La dictée est de retour !
Are you ready for a Dictée “à la française”? According to many sources, the dictée is an excellent (and classic) way of practicing your French. You will listen to our instructor Damien read you a passage and you will write down what you hear. Part listening challenge, spelling and grammar test, you will also benefit from the time spent correcting la dictée. À la manière de Pivot, Damien vous prévient que cette dictée sera très difficile !
The event is in person on Saturday July 11, starting 12 noon at the Alliance Française Mpls/St Paul in the Grande Salle.

Who was Pivot ?
Bernard Pivot (5 May 1935 – 6 May 2024) was a French journalist, interviewer and host of cultural television programs. He invented and hosted Les Dicos d'or, a spelling and dictation competition which was televised in France for 20 years. This program helped the dictée become a cultural phenomenon in France.
