Vietnam & Cambodia

Spend 12 days discovering Vietnam and Cambodia with Alliance Française Mpls/St Paul! Between landscapes seemingly untouched by man, to the bustling cities, from the beautiful beaches to the ancient architecture of the famous Angkor Temples, there is something for everyone.

Your journey begins in Vietnam in the fast growing Ho Chi Minh City, still called Saigon by most locals. Spend a day exploring the mighty Mekong River and its floating markets. Then, head north and discover the coastal cities of Hoi An and Hue as well as some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Finally, we will visit the capital city of Hanoi with its French architecture and see and explore the Old Quarters. Spend a magical day exploring Ha Long Bay, often called the eighth wonder of the world, before continuing on to Cambodia. In Cambodia, we will explore the famous Angkor Temples and the “floating village” on Tonlé Sap Lake.

Rendez-vous in Ho Chi Minh City, where we will begin 10 days in Vietnam and 2 days in Cambodia, learning about the history and cultures of these two nations.

After three nights in what some continue to call Saigon, we will visit Hue to discover the former imperial city of the Nguyen dynsasty and UNESCO World Heritage Site renowned for its traditional architecture and lotus ponds. Then, we will set off to Hoi An, a well-preserved ancient seaport, on our way to Hanoi, the Capitol. We’ll take to the water on the Mekong, explore on bicycles, and spend one night aboard a ship in the Ha Long Bay, another UNESCO World Heritage site. In Cambodia, we will admire the temples of Angkor Wat and savor the culinary delicacies in Preah Dak.

What’s Included?

  • Hotel : Twelve nights, double occupancy; all rooms are non-smoking and have private baths. Single accommodations are available upon reqeust, please see details and rates above.

  • All meals as indicated in the program (food only, unless otherwise stated): Breakfast is provided each day at the hotels; seven lunches and nine group dinners are included in tour price.

  • Transportation : All inter-city transportation from Ho Chih Minh City to Siem Reap, by air-conditioned coach.

  • Vietnam E-visa for USA passport holders (single entry, based on normal processing: 10 working days, not counting weekends or public holidays). A surcharge will be applied for urgent visa processing.

  • Tours with licensed English-speaking guiding services / assistance.

  • All entrance fees for visits as mentioned in the program.

  • All applicable taxes and service charges;

  • Refillable Water bottle

What’s Not Included?

The price of the tour does not include:

  • Airfare from participant’s Point of Origin and Ho Chi Minh City, as well as return airfare from Siem Reap and participant’s final destination.

  • Medical insurance and Travel insurance; 

  • Fast Track Service and Cambodia Visa (available at the airport upon arrival); 

  • Personal expenses such as other meals, drinks, shopping, tips/gratuities for optional activities, portage fees and optional tours/ visits, unless otherwise stated;

  • Visa fees, specific camera / video fees, additional transportation cost from and to the general pick-up / drop-off regions (such as airports, out-of-town resorts, ports, harbors and accommodation in surrounding towns). 

  • Any accommodation expenses of a personal nature. This includes meals and drinks, minibar consumption, laundry, room service, any telephone or other communication cost not mentioned in the program. 

  • Voluntary carbon emission compensation: USD 1.50 per person per day.

  • Other: Any services not specifically identified in the What’s Included? section above.
