In response to requests from the local community, the Alliance Française chapter based in the Twin Cities began hosting cultural and educational programming in Rochester in May 2015. Since then, we have celebrated Bastille Day and held regular movie nights and conversation groups and also hosted classes in person and via Skype for Rochester students.
Prior to 2015, a number of dedicated Alliance Française members and students from the area had to make the commute all the way to Minneapolis and back for any classes or events they wanted to attend. However, the Alliance is proud to now offer classes and cultural events outside of the Twin Cities metro area. We look forward to the continued work with local institutions and organizations to bring French-language classes and cultural events to Olmsted County and the surrounding area!

After the death of his mother, Zino sets out to find his father, Farid. Zino soon realizes that his father became Lola, a woman, 25 years prior. Film review from Rotten Tomatoes: “The path from resentment to reconciliation may be well-worn but it is traveled with a good deal of charm and sensitivity in Lola Pater.”
