C’EST LA CHANDELEUR WITH A TWIST! AVEZ-VOUS LE COURAGE DE CHANTER EN FRANÇAIS À CETTE SOIRÉE CONVIVIALE ?
To celebrate La Chandeleur, join us for a night of crêpes and karaoke! Your ticket includes one sweet and one savory crêpe made by notre amie Claire, owner of Oh Crêpe! Since cider is a traditional pairing for crêpes, we’re delighted to announce that Panache will be there with cider and apple juice for guests as well. Last but not least, we’ll provide some French song choices for karaoke, so make sure to bring your friends for backup if you’re feeling timide about singing tout seul !
C’EST QUOI L’HISTOIRE DE LA CHANDELEUR ?
There are a few theories for why crêpes became a part of the celebration, like the idea that as winter starts drawing toward a close sun-shaped crêpes are a festive way to celebrate the days growing longer. Others think that the tradition started because crêpes and their savory cousins galettes are a tasty way to get rid of extra wheat that’s been stored through the winter.
