Festinema Junior: Youth Film Festival

Join us for Festinema Junior 2023! Young learners will get the chance to practice their French comprehension while developing a taste for foreign-language cinema. This year, four films will be shown over three days. There is something for everyone to enjoy!

Films are in French with English subtitles

Ticket price - $2 per student

Elementary School

L’odysée de Choum,  film d’animation de 2019 de Julien Bisaro (26min).

Shooom, a little owl, hatches when a storm turns the bayou where his tree is planted upside down. Barely out of the nest, there she is hobbling along into the mangrove, pushing along the second egg of the brood. Against all odds, she is determined to find a mother. Could it be an alligator or a raccoon!

Vanille, a young Parisian girl recently arrived in Guadeloupe, dives in an adventure tinged with mystery, meeting picturesque characters and a magic flower. These are holidays that promise to be rich in twists and turns!


Middle School

Mystère, film de 2021 de Denis Imbert ( 80 min). 

Stéphane decides to move to the beautiful Cantal mountains to reconnect with his eight-year-old daughter Victoria, who has been mute since her mother's death. During a walk in the forest, a shepherd gives Victoria a puppy named Mystery who will gradually give her a taste for life again. But very quickly, Stéphane discovers that the animal is in fact a wolf... Despite warnings and the danger of the situation, he cannot bring himself to separate his daughter from this seemingly harmless ball of fur.

High School
