D’Après moi

Exposition d’Isabelle Skoog et Dana Bjorum

We love it when former staff return to AFMSP!  Join us on Friday evening for the opening reception for former Youth Programs Coordinator Dana Bjorum. Dana will be exhibiting original work alongside AFMSP Board Member Isabelle Skoog. Both Dana and Isabelle are currently teachers at Normandale French Immersion in Edina!

Join us in the Vaaler gallery to view this collaborative effort where the artists created paintings from different perspectives using the same list of prompts.

D’après moi - “from my perspective” - tells the colorful story of two trips through France, capturing both the quotidian and the grandiose. A deck of vintage French language vocabulary cards served as inspiration and a jumping off point for each piece.

The opening reception for the exhibition will take place on Friday, January 27 at 6pm. It is free of charge, with a $10 suggested donation to support our cultural programs.
Register for the opening reception below.
After opening night, the exhibition will be open to visitors Monday through Thursday 9 am to 7 pm, and Fridays and Saturdays 9 am to 4 pm. The exhibition will be on display until February 25, 2023.

Isabelle Skoog

After her training in sight-size portraiture in Florence, Italy, and an artist residency at the Chateau Orquevaux, Isabelle Skoog continues to develop her art and style while traveling between Minneapolis and France. She draws on her memories, travels and people she's met to create her colorful compositions using gouache paints and colored pencils. Isabelle teaches at French Immersion Normandale Elementary School.

Dana Bjorum

Dana Bjorum is a Minnesotan with a passion for travel and art.  When she is not off adventuring, Dana teaches at French Immersion Normandale Elementary School and enjoys creating in a variety of media, eating very good food, and teaching.  She lives in Minneapolis with her husband, two cats, and dozens of house plants.
