About the artist

‘‘My name Sofia-Rose. I am a multidisciplinary artist I run my studio A.fp15 Arts, working across dance, music, and visual art to explore queerness, femininity, and identity within the Black diaspora. My work draws from personal experience, ancestral memory, and cultural roots using color, movement, and emotion as tools to express layered stories of healing, transformation, and resistance.

My work is a variety of reflections on time and about understanding the interconnectedness of life as a whole. It serves as a reminder of the beauty and complexity of existence, inviting viewers to contemplate their own place within the world.

Nature, spirituality, and the body are recurring elements in my practice, creating immersive spaces that invite reflection and reconnection. Through bold visuals and embodied performance, I challenge systems of erasure and celebrate the complexity of Black existence. My work becomes a living archive: an exploration of time, resilience, and the sacredness of being.’’
