About Nour Harkati

Nour Harkati is a Tunisian, New York–based musician, singer-songwriter, and Guembri player, blending ancestral North African traditions with contemporary urban sound. Rooted in Gnawa rhythms and shaped by eight years in New York, his music is meditative, kinetic, and deeply groovy. The latest album, Moulena (December 2024), fuses The Guembri with NYC urban groove, electronics, and modern songcraft, exploring migration, memory, and belonging. It premiered on KEXP and was celebrated at Public Records in New York. Harkati has toured the U.S, performed at GlobalFEST, Celebrate Brooklyn, and Habibi Festival, a one-month residency at Pioneer Works, for a potential new album. Across continents, he continues to honor lineage while pushing it forward.

About Other Country ensemble

Other Country Ensemble (OCE) features veteran musicians from the Twin Cities, performing traditional music from the northern Mediterranean region ranging from Spanish Sephardic to Greek and Turkish music, and original compositions inspired by the regions. We tell tales of the history of the music from 711 A.D on and the fusion of sounds that spread through the Mediterranean, as well as the instruments we perform.
