PART-TIME RECEPTIONIST

Job Title: Part-time Receptionist

Schedule: Part-time, 8 to 14 hours per week: Saturdays, 8:30 to 4:30, possibly Sunday afternoons starting in September 2021 and/or one weeknight, 4 to 9 pm.  

Status:  Non-exempt

Compensation: $13 per hour, free parking, free access to AF classes

Start date: August 1, 2021

Brief job description: The Part-time Receptionist is responsible for the front desk of the Alliance Française in absence of the Administrative Coordinator.  Tasks include processing membership and class registrations, assisting with social and cultural programs, and more.  The qualified candidate will have excellent organizational and customer service skills, computer technical knowledge.  This position calls for speaking, reading, and writing in both French and English. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage front desk; welcome visitors, members, staff; answer door and phone; provide general office support to staff and volunteers.  
  • Supervise La Boutique gift shop in absence of volunteers.
  • Assist with library check out, process magazines and other subscriptions.
  • Set-up for and help clean-up after events, classes, and meetings.
  • Prepare reports, generate mailings and perform other clerical tasks as assigned.
  • Be an informational resource to members and non-members about AF programs; be an ambassador for the organization in the community.
  • Attend staff committee meetings, open houses, and events as requested.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Computer proficiency (MS Office, InDesign helpful).
  • Fluency in French and English.
  • Knowledge of and enthusiasm for AF programs and a general appreciation and knowledge of French culture. Prior AF experience preferred, but not required.
  • Excellent customer service and organizational skills, an out-going and welcoming personality essential.

FRENCH INSTRUCTOR FOR CHILDREN

Job Title: French Instructor for children

Type: Part-time, 3 - 10 hours per week (must be available weekday afternoons and Saturdays); Non-exempt

Salary: Based on experience

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and teach Alliance Française classes using methods and materials provided.
  • Prepare and teach Alliance Française classes in schools off-site using tools provided and by creating activities.
  • Work with AF students and families; suggest resources to assist in French language learning.
  • Draft course descriptions and curriculum, answer questions on AF classes.
  • Attend staff meetings and open houses as requested.
  • Represent Alliance Française in the community.
  • Be an informational resource to members and non-members about AF educational programs, attend AF events.

 Minimum Qualifications:

  • Native French speaker or equivalent. (C1 level)
  • Educational background in Français Langue Etrangère (Licence, DAEFLE, DUFLE, Master…) and/or Elementary Education
  • Prior work experience as a French teacher.
  • Prior work experience teaching children
  • Authorized to live and work in the US.
  • Genuine enthusiasm for teaching children and for the French language.
  • Effective class management skills

Qualified candidates will be asked to complete a background check prior to hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Computer proficiency and experience with interactive whiteboard (Smart Board) preferred.
  • Prior AF experience
  • Familiarity with the CEFR language levels and DELF/DALF exams
  • Current driver’s license

Stage d’enseignement et coordination pédagogique FLE

Durée de 9 à 12 mois, à partir du 1er novembre 2021

Défraiement de $400 par mois (le stagiaire est responsable des frais du visa, du transport, du séjour et autre)


Diplôme souhaité:

En cours de formation FLE; Master ou Diplôme Universitaire.

 

Compétences requises :

  • Bon niveau d’anglais (B2)
  • Expérience dans l’enseignement FLE
  • Bonne faculté d’adaptation
  • Capacité à travailler en équipe
  • Connaissance des niveaux du CECR
  • Connaissances des manuels Alter Ego +
  • Connaissance des diplômes DELF/DALF et TEF

Les plus :

  • Maîtrise du CECR
  • Habilitation de correcteur DELF/DALF
  • Expérience avec les TICE (la majorité de nos classes sont équipées de TBI)
  • Expérience d’enseignement des cours virtuels (Zoom)
  • Séjour d’études ou expérience à l’étranger (aux Etats-Unis de préférence)

Descriptif du poste :

Enseignement du FLE à un public adulte et/ou enfant :

Cours de français général et de spécialité 

Utilisation des méthodes et des documents pédagogiques choisis par la direction de l’établissement

Travail de recherche et de préparation des cours

Tâches administratives liées à la gestion des cours: suivi des présences, information sur les activités de l’établissement, communication avec les apprenants

Participation aux réunions pédagogiques et du personnel

Participation aux formations professionnelles proposées par l’établissement

 

Travail de coordination pédagogique :

  • Le développement de cursus et de ressources pédagogiques
  • La recherche de nouvelles ressources et méthodes
  • L’organisation des sessions d’examen DELF et DELF Prim
  • La préparation de l’offre des cours
  • L’analyse de statistiques
