Learn French with the French!

All of our instructors are native French speakers, from France and other French speaking countries around the world. Another reason to learn with is: the Alliance Française believes immersion is the best means of learning French and we owe our success to that philosophy. In our school, students enjoy a simultaneous cultural and linguistic education. When you walk through our door you'll feel like you are in another land!

		ADULTS AND YOUNG ADULTS
Registration for Summer session is open now. Click on which type of course you are interested in for complete details! I-Foundation Courses: from Beginner 1 to Advanced 5 Master the fundamentals through courses focusing on grammar, vocabulary and conversational French with an emphasis on active student participation using videos and communication exercises. Classes meet once a week for three hours, for 10 weeks. II-Conversation Classes Practice makes perfect, strengthen your speaking skills at intermediate and advanced levels with courses based on active conversation, reading, and grammar review. Classes meet once a week for two hours, for 10 weeks. III-Mini-Session Courses: If you will be out of town for part of the summer, we offer 5-week review and conversation classes for all levels, to accomodate your schedule. III- Thematic Courses: Explore French culture through a variety of courses that focus on specialized topics. Including: Yasmina Khadra, French Politics, Business French, French for Travelers! IV- Workshops Delve deeper into French culture and grammar reviews with these out of the ordinary classes. Workshops are one day or one afternoon only. Including: Pronouns, Saturday, June 27, from 3-6 p.m. Le 14 Juillet, Tuesday, July 14, from 6-9 p.m. Perfect Pronunciation, Saturday, July 18, from 1-4 p.m. Québec, Saturday, August 15, from 1-4 p.m. V-Private Classes Customize your learning with our easy-to use private tutoring packages. 		CHILDREN'S CLASSES
Children's classes From September to June, the Alliance Française offers weekly French language classes for children from age 2 to 12, for beginners and advanced students. Summer Camps 2009 Join the AF for Summer fun in French with our Summer Camps! In 2009, we offer All-day camps at the French Academy of Minnesota for children who speak French at home or in school and half-day camps at the AFMSP for beginners and intermediates. Take a Placement Test!

All New Students (except students who have never studied French before) are encouraged to take a placement test before they register for a class.

The written & oral placement is used to assess your level of French skills and allows us to advice you regarding the class appropriate for you. To complete a placement test online, please click here. You can also download and print out the placement test . When you have completed the written test, return it to AFMSP to have it evaluated.
