High School Scholarships

The Alliance Française of Minneapolis/St. Paul is pleased to offer a Scholarship program for 10th and 11th grade high school students of the Twin Cities area.

This program is designed to give young adults the opportunity to discover French language and culture.  Each year, five recipients are selected to receive a one-year membership to our non-profit organization, four 10-week sessions of French classes (one calendar year) and required textbooks free of charge.

Applications to the 2011 - 2012 Scholarship Program are being accepted now.

A complete application will consist of the following documents:

1.       2011 Scholarship Application Form

2.      Recent Transcript (issued February 1, 2011 or later)

3.      A Recommendation from at least one teacher

No applications will be accepted after April 15, 2011. Incomplete or late applications will not be accepted.

Acceptance to the program is determined by merit, financial need, access (or lack of access) to French programs in school, maturity and interest in French culture and the French language.

Please note that Alliance Française classes are offered on weeknights and on Saturday mornings.  Careful consideration must be given by each applicant to any scheduling conflicts that may make participation difficult (extra-curricular activities, distance to travel, etc.).  In the event a scholarship is awarded and the student does not make use of this occasion, the Scholarship Committee may withdraw the award.

Complete applications may be addressed to:
